Tatted Nautical Pendants

Hi all.

I've been working on something a little different.

I'd like to introduce to you my new Seaside Pendant Collection:

These are all available on Artfire. What do you think? I live by the sea so I've grown up around these seaside colours. I suppose it was only natural that I'd want to incorporate this into my tatting. Plastic rings allow me to do just that.

I have a pink and white in the pipeline and there may be a lilac and white coming soon. If they take off I may set up a separate shop just for this style but we'll see.

Updates

Good day to one and all. A few updates for today.

~Now available~

I've added another tatted bookmark to Artfire:

I really enjoyed making these pieces. I'll tat some more soon. Are there any colours you would like to see this pattern in?

~Anklets~

I've also been working on my anklet idea. Here's a limited edition red creation.

There's also a black sparkly version in the pipeline. I'll start listing these very soon.

~New circle pendants~

I've created some more circular pendants. I add these to my shops as soon as I get some chains (hopefully in the next day or so). I'm very pleased with how they've turned out and I hope you like them.

What else has been happening? Well I sold one of my beaded lace bracelets a couple of days ago and I'm just waiting for some more purple thread to come before I relist it.

Have a nice day,
Heather

New creations and new ideas

Good morning. Hope everyone is well.

~Twitter~

First of all, I've decided to do something special when I reach 1,800 followers on twitter. I'm 6 people away so come and follow me here @TataniaRosa It's a great way of keeping up to date with everything Tatania Rosa.

Once I reach 1,800 I will announce the special on my twitter page so keep your eyes peeled.

~Latest creations~

Here are my latest creations, now available to purchase on Artfire:

I hand tatted this simple yet stylish bookmark in a gorgeous chocolate brown thread. The next two use the same design. Below is the pastel blue and lilac version:

and this one is a OOAK black version on Etsy:

You can also choose your own colour(s) here and here.

I've created a matching necklace for my Rhiannon earrings. This was originally a custom order. I love it so much that I've added it for anyone to buy.

I'm also thinking about doing a matching cuff.

~New ideas~

I've been busy working on some new ideas. The first one came together quite quickly. This is the prototype:

This anklet was tatted in metallic red thread and features a glass bead in the center. What do you think? I'm working on a silver version right now and have some sparkly black thread coming in the post for another one. I think these would look fabulous at parties.

The second new idea is still in the pipeline. I'd like to make a few more up before I show you but it won't be too long before you see it.

That's all for today. I'm off to watch some Wimbledon.

Don't forget to follow me on twitter.

Have a nice Monday,

Looney about looms

I'd like to talk about looms.

Last year I saw a programme entitled Mastercrafts. It was presented by Monty Don and each week a few people learnt a different skill. One episode focused on weaving. I really enjoyed it and wanted to try it out so I bought a beginners weaving loom. I haven't done much on it recently but it is a very enjoyable craft.

So last week I discovered knitting looms while I was looking at online craft shops. I started to knit with needles recently but I'm still learning. My mum is helping but she's right handed so we have to sit opposite each other. I think I'm getting the hang of it but my stitches are quite tight. I think it's all that tatting I've been doing! So anyway I decided to purchase a knitting loom and it came yesterday.

I immediately tried it out. Below is my first go:

This was using two threads. I went slightly wrong with the stitches so I tried again but this time I used three threads together. This is was I made:

I'm so happy with the result. I used the twisted knit stitch and the honeycomb stitch in this one. I've now run out of one of the balls so I'll probably cast off the piece. Next I'm going to try it with a chunky yarn. I'll update you soon with the results.

New lace for Artfire

Hi everyone. I'd like to show you my latest creations. Last week I told you that I've been working hard on creating bookmarks. Well here are the first few. All of these are available to buy in my Artfire shop. (Click the pictures below to see the individual artfire pages for these items.)

This is the one I showed a sneak peak of over on facebook. This was my prototype design that I have since changed slightly so I've listed it as a one of a kind (OOAK) piece. I love these colours!

For this one I went with a lovely purple thread. It looks so dainty and delicate but, as with all my lace, it will last for years.

The last one I've listed is in a lovely shell pink and antique violet cotton thread.

These make great gifts for book lovers or why not treat yourself. I can create these in many colours and different lengths. Any requests?

I've started working on a gothic black and red version that I will list later on this week.

There's also a pastel blue version in the works.

New bookmarks

Good evening everyone.

Last week I thought up a delicate looking design for some new lace creations. You've probably seen the sneak peek on my facebook page. Well I can now announce what this new piece is a tatted bookmark. It's something I've been meaning to create more of.

At the moment I have this one ready and I've also tatted another multicoloured piece using the same design and a medium purple version. This evening I think I shall start creating an all black one.

I hope to start listing them tomorrow in my Artfire shop so keep your eyes peeled.

New flower design

Good afternoon.

First of all: After 7 years of loving the book series, the TV adaptation of Game of Thrones will finally premiere on Sky Atlantic in 6 hours time (9pm). I'm ridiculously excited and feel like Christmas has come early so I may be on cloud 9 tomorrow morning on twitter. Just an advance warning.

Now on to the main point of this post. For the last week I've been working hard on a new hair flower design. This idea came pretty much fully formed which is always nice. Sometimes I have to make a few prototypes to get it how I want it but not with this. It's a bit more open that my 'Rosetta' piece. I've decided to combine tatting, organza fabric and felt to create different layers. Here is a sneak peek of the lilac flower:

I've just completed a black and purple hair flower using this pattern and shall start listing them tomorrow. I'm also thinking of making them as brooches and maybe wrist corsages but that's for another post.

Have a nice Monday,

New choker

Good evening.

I have a new listing for you all. 'Cassandra' - a tatted gothic choker (click the picture to see more on Etsy).

This design comes from my bridal headband but instead of the ribbon going through the piece, I've threaded it through two tatted rings at the back.

It took a while to make as I used tiny seed beads but I think it works well. This can be created in other colours.

I think this would look great with a corset or perhaps a Victorian costume.

I have more choker ideas that I'll probably try next week.

Have a nice weekend,
Heather x
