New Trim

Good afternoon all. I hope you had a nice weekend / bank holiday. I spent it tidying, playing board games and running around Cyrodiil in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. I've loved this game for years and it's wonderful to see an updated version. The devs have done a great job! Anyone else playing it?

I'm dipping my toes into the world of handmade tatted lace trim! I've done a bit before for a lovely customer and I now want to build on that. So here's my first design:

'Petal' is a flexible edging that can be moved into different positions (including side to side), making it a versatile piece. It can be used for various crafts like card making, mixed media and jewellery making. It could be sewn to a bridal veil or used as an edging for a mat. I have listed it as a custom piece with colour and length choices.

You can find it in any of my shops from this list:

So what colour should I make next? I'm thinking white.

New Tatting Pattern

Afternoon everyone. I hope you are well. I have a new original tatting pattern to share with you all.

'Annabelle' Snowflake Decoration

This intermediate pattern features diagrams for both left and right-handers, along with written instructions in English. Find it in my Etsy shop.

In other news, I'm working on my next textile Collection. This one will be sea themed and include tatted bookmarks, hand spun yarn and potentially lace jewellery (if I have enough materials). Here's part of it.

Follow me on Instagram for more sneak peeks. I'm not sure when it will all be ready but, in the meantime, I'm going to be doing a mini Shop Update this Friday.

Stay safe,

Unveiling of new range of housewares

I've been working on this project for a while now and I have finally got to a point where I can start listing them.

I started off with my 'Valencia' heart design but instead of tatting a loop at the bottom, I created another heart as if looking through a mirror. The next step was to join this to another double heart, as shown below.

I then tatted a third motif to this and connected it all up.

This was my prototype design. It is exactly how I pictured it in my head but it was too big! I then tried it again with less double stitches in the middle of each motif but alas, still too big!

So, third time lucky, I decreased the size of each motif.

Ta da!

It's now the perfect size for.....

drum roll....

Napkin rings!

Click here for the Etsy listing.

What do you think? I'm really pleased with how they've turned out.

The napkin rings above were created in my 'Eva' pattern using the same red cotton thread and can be purchased here.

I've also listed some customizable napkin rings: you choose the colour.

I'm currently working on more housewares so keep your eyes peeled.
