New collection for sale!

Hello everyone to this, my first blog of the new year. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Mine was good although I had a bad cold just before New Year!

I'd like to announce my new range of tatted creations.......

drum roll.....

Tatted Hair Clips

It's taken me quite some time to work out the best method for creating 3D flowers but it was worth it. I started by tatting different sized layers and then sewed them together. A bed of ribbon was then added to this. Each hair piece features over eighty seed beads. The one above was tatted in variegated red cotton thread and can be bought here. Here are the others:

This one has been tatted in a gorgeous variegated turquoise, blue and purple thread with turquoise beads and royal blue ribbon. Find it here.

The next one is in silver / grey thread with silver ribbon. This would look wonderful at a prom or party. This can be found here.

Here's the last one for today - an all black flower sitting on a bed of crystal organza fabric. This one is here.

So what do you think? I'm working on some others at the moment that I hope to list throughout this week.

Have a lovely Sunday,

Headbands

This is the first in my new line of tatted headbands. It has been created in black cotton thread and features many tiny gold seed beads. I've added gold roses around the band and it ties up under the hair with a black satin ribbon that is woven through the piece. You can buy it here.

This is great for fancy dress, Gothic gatherings, Halloween, Renaissance Faires or just to add something to you outfit when going out to parties.

At the moment I'm working on a Medieval bridal headband that I hope to finish tomorrow. All I can say about that one is that it is very sparkly.

Look out for more coming soon.

Something gothic this way comes - Part 1

I'm going to be very secretive in this post.

A few days ago I had an interesting idea for a tatted piece. I started planning it out and soon realised I had all (or nearly all) the required materials to make it up. Great! I got to work immediately. After a while I had to transfer the tatting from my normal sized shuttles to my lager ones due to the length of the piece, which is fine but it slowed me down as there is no hook attached to the end of the shuttle to connect the picots. Several knots, seed beads and hours later I have now finished the base and am feeling very happy with the result. Here's a glimpse:

I'm not going to spill the beans just yet but I am going to say that it has a Tudor / Renaissance / Gothic vibe about it and will look great at parties! I now need to buy a few bits and bobs to finish it off and then I'll show you. This piece was really fun to make and I hope you like it when you see the whole item.
