New Craft For My Shop

Hello everyone. Hope you are all well.

I've been incredibly busy recently. On Saturday I had a stall at a local craft fair so I was preparing for that all last week. We didn't get many people come through the doors but it was an enjoyable day nonetheless. I sold a few pieces and had lots of lovely comments which is always nice.

I've also been working on some other things, which brings me to the main point of this blog.

New Line of Products

I can now announce that I will be adding ribbonwork flowers to my Etsy shop.

I picked up a gorgeous craft book a while ago and was immediately inspired to have a go at some of the creations. I then quickly moved on to trying my own ideas. When I haven't been tatting, this is what I've been doing. I'm now hooked!

Sneak peek of some of the creations:
The picture above shows a blue fantasy knotted flower hair clip. I'm thinking of trying this in different colours. Below is a slightly different version with one layer. I used a cute black ribbon with silver spots. This would look great with a punky outfit.

This lilac and white pansy hair clip was one of my first finished pieces. It's so cute. Watch this space for a gothic version.

I've made this red and gold piece into a hair barrette. This is great for parties or proms.

Launch:
I will launch this product line on Thursday 1st September in my Etsy shop.

If you have any colours you'd like to see, feel free to comment below this post with your suggestion.

Have a nice day,
Heather x

New flower design

Good afternoon.

First of all: After 7 years of loving the book series, the TV adaptation of Game of Thrones will finally premiere on Sky Atlantic in 6 hours time (9pm). I'm ridiculously excited and feel like Christmas has come early so I may be on cloud 9 tomorrow morning on twitter. Just an advance warning.

Now on to the main point of this post. For the last week I've been working hard on a new hair flower design. This idea came pretty much fully formed which is always nice. Sometimes I have to make a few prototypes to get it how I want it but not with this. It's a bit more open that my 'Rosetta' piece. I've decided to combine tatting, organza fabric and felt to create different layers. Here is a sneak peek of the lilac flower:

I've just completed a black and purple hair flower using this pattern and shall start listing them tomorrow. I'm also thinking of making them as brooches and maybe wrist corsages but that's for another post.

Have a nice Monday,
Heather x

New collection for sale!

Hello everyone to this, my first blog of the new year. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Mine was good although I had a bad cold just before New Year!

I'd like to announce my new range of tatted creations.......

drum roll.....

Tatted Hair Clips

It's taken me quite some time to work out the best method for creating 3D flowers but it was worth it. I started by tatting different sized layers and then sewed them together. A bed of ribbon was then added to this. Each hair piece features over eighty seed beads. The one above was tatted in variegated red cotton thread and can be bought here. Here are the others:

This one has been tatted in a gorgeous variegated turquoise, blue and purple thread with turquoise beads and royal blue ribbon. Find it here.

The next one is in silver / grey thread with silver ribbon. This would look wonderful at a prom or party. This can be found here.

Here's the last one for today - an all black flower sitting on a bed of crystal organza fabric. This one is here.

So what do you think? I'm working on some others at the moment that I hope to list throughout this week.

Have a lovely Sunday,
Heather x
