New Trim

Good afternoon all. I hope you had a nice weekend / bank holiday. I spent it tidying, playing board games and running around Cyrodiil in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. I've loved this game for years and it's wonderful to see an updated version. The devs have done a great job! Anyone else playing it?

I'm dipping my toes into the world of handmade tatted lace trim! I've done a bit before for a lovely customer and I now want to build on that. So here's my first design:

'Petal' is a flexible edging that can be moved into different positions (including side to side), making it a versatile piece. It can be used for various crafts like card making, mixed media and jewellery making. It could be sewn to a bridal veil or used as an edging for a mat. I have listed it as a custom piece with colour and length choices.

You can find it in any of my shops from this list:

So what colour should I make next? I'm thinking white.

Lacy Bookmarks

 Good afternoon all.

First off, I have some exciting news to share. I've just reached 1000 followers over on my Instagram page! 😃 I'm so grateful for all the support I've received so far and look forward to sharing more of my creations in the future. Follow me there for something special this week. 😉

I've been adding some more tatting to my Etsy shop.

The first one is my 'Janessa' bookmark design in white cotton thread:

Tatted lace bookmark in white thread.

This would make a lovely wedding favour. Bulk discounts and other colours are available. Feel free to contact me with your ideas. You can find it here.

I've also relisted my summer garden bookmark:

A multicoloured, summer inspired tatted lace bookmark.

This would make a lovely gift for the bookworm in your life or why not treat yourself. Find it here.

More to come soon.

Stay safe,
Heather x

Good evening all and Happy World Goth Day!
I have a few things to talk about today.

First of all, I have a new hair accessory available in my Etsy shop:

I hand tatted the flowers for this hair comb in pale lilac, lavender and white cotton thread and sewed them to a base of olive green tatted leaves. I loved creating this and I now have ideas for more colour combinations. You can find more details about it here.

New Tatted Bookmarks

Hi all.
I have some new tatted lace bookmarks for you:

I've just listed this variegated yellow rose bookmark on Etsy. It would make a lovely Spring or Summer Wedding favour. Please contact me if you would like a larger quantity. Bulk discounts are available.

Why not treat yourself or perhaps give it as a gift.

'Janessa' red and green bookmark. This was shuttle tatted in a thinner thread than my other bookmarks and was very enjoyable to make.

I hope you like these. I am currently photographing a new hair accessory that I'll have available in the next few days. Keep an eye on my twitter page for updates.

Busy, Busy

Hi all. Wow the time has simply flown by. I've been so busy with my online tatting shops that I haven't been able to do a blog post in ages. So this is going to be a big update.

~New creations on Etsy~

~Current projects~

As usual I have several projects on the go. Below is something I'm working on that's a little bit different. I suspect tatters out there will spot it from the picture. I think I have another 2 rows to go. I can't wait to show you the finished piece!

The other day I had a great idea for a new style of tatted beaded necklace. The prototype was successful so once I've finished my latest Etsy order, I'll get back to that.

I'm also working on some more 'Mina' jewellery which will be in my Etsy shop very soon.

Have a great day,
Heather x

Latest creations and Craftsy

~Latest creations~

 These are available on Etsy.

'Celia' Tudor inspired pendant in ecru cotton thread with pale gold seed beads and gold pearlised beads.

I'm thinking about making some earrings to match this, perhaps with a teardrop bead at the base.

'Eva' bookmark in multicoloured turquoise, blue and purple cotton thread. I'm currently working on a red and cream version in this design. It's looking good so far.

~Craftsy~

As I've begun to sell patterns I thought I'd better set up a store on Craftsy. You can find me here. The great thing about this site is that when you purchase a pattern, it will be instantly available to download as a pdf. I will be adding the 'Lillian' bracelet on there soon as well as a bookmark pattern I'm working on at the moment.

Have a lovely weekend,

Updates

Good afternoon all. I hope you had a nice weekend. Lots of things to talk about today. First of all here's my latest new listing in my Etsy shop. I'm on a roll with my rose bookmarks.

I tatted this one in Yarnplayer's wonderful 'Corsage' thread with a green thread for the vines. I love how it's turned out. This is a Limited Edition creation. I will only ever make 3 so once they're gone, they're gone. You can buy it here.

Over the weekend I finished another rose bookmark, this time in a lovely hand dyed thread I bought recently in a craft shop in Rochester. Again this will be a limited edition creation.

There are also large variegated blue roses on the way. If you want to see a sneak peek of this click here.

These are ready to photographed, unfortunately it looks like the British weather is winning at the moment! A large cloud has just appeared. As soon as the sun comes out again I'll photograph then.

In the meantime I'm currently tatting a variegated red rose for a gothic bookmark.

I hope you like these when you see them.

Have a nice day,

Heather x

Lots Of Updates

Good morning everyone. I've got lots of updates and news to share with you today. First of all, here are some of my latest listings.

~New~

'Rosetta' - I have now added more wedding coasters to my Etsy shop. Each was created, using my original design, in high quality ivory cotton thread.

Find the set of two here, and the set of four here. They would look great at wedding receptions and also make wonderful keepsakes for guests.

'Rosa' - the idea for a rose bookmark came to me a couple of months ago. I tried a prototype but wasn't happy with it, so put it to one side. I went back to it last week and tried again. This time it worked! The rose in the centre and the petals have been tatted in variegated pink cotton thread and the vines are in a lovely green colour. Available to buy on Etsy here.

I've also listed some Christmas decoration that I had in stock but weren't on Etsy yet. You can find them all here.

~Back in stock~

I've relisted some pieces that haven't been in stock for a bit.

'Katherine' black gothic Medieval inspired pendant available here.

'Elaine' black Medieval pendant with black glass drop bead. Find it here

New Items And Updates

~New items~

'Rosetta' - this Victorian inspired pendant was tatted in ecru cotton thread and features tiny pale gold seed beads with a freshwater pearl sewn into the centre. It hangs from an antique copper chain. For more info and to purchase this click here.

'Marie' - these simple yet stylish napkin rings were tatted in variegated blue cotton thread. Find the set of two here and the set of four here. If you would like more, please contact me on Etsy and I can create a custom listing for you.

'Marie' - I tatted these napkin rings in a gorgeous multicoloured yellow, green and orange cotton thread. They would look great at an outdoor summer party.

This was my prototype design. I have since changed the pattern slightly so I'm listing these as a one of a kind (OOAK) set on Etsy here.

Hope you like these new pieces.

~Currently working on~

I'm working on a few items.

I've just completed a Spring inspired bracelet that I aim to list in the next few days. I'm trying one of my pendant patterns as a pair of earrings. If they work I'll show you some pictures, hopefully tomorrow.

I'm also just about to start tatting some more napkin rings using my 'Marie' pattern. How do you feel about black and red together?

Keep updated on all the latest Tatania Rosa news on my Facebook page and Twitter.

 Have a nice Monday,
Heather x
