Earrings sneak peek and a gothic romance

Hello. Not long to go now until I unveil my new range of tatted earrings in my Etsy shop. Until then I thought I'd whet your appetite with a sneak peek. Here it is:

These elegant earrings match my Lillian bracelet but I've added more silver seed beads and large Swarovski Crystals to the bases. What do you think? I'll keep you informed of when I start adding them.

I made a treasury yesterday. It's entitled 'A Gothic Romance'. Here's the link (ends Sunday). Please enjoy these beauties.

One step closer to earrings at TataniaRosa

Good evening. It's not getting any warmer out there! Anyway I thought I'd update you as to where I am with my tatting projects.

Earrings

We are now a few days away from earrings at my Etsy shop. The earring components have been ordered. I've got a few designs all ready and more will be tatted soon. Most of these will have matching necklaces / pendants and bracelets. I can't wait to show you the results!

Choker

We've found some of that material we were searching for. I'm going to try it out tomorrow and see what happens! If this does work I will try to list some chokers by the end of next week, and maybe something else which uses a similar design. You'll have to wait and see!

That's it for today. I'll keep you informed of how these projects progress. Untill then, stay warm.

Treasuries

Second post of the evening. I had completely forgotten to talk about two new treasuries in the previous post!

Anyway here they are:

The first one can be found here (ends early tomorrow) and includes my Isabella necklace. Thanks SchickiMickis.

The next one inludes my Elizabeth necklace here (expires tomorrow).

Enjoy these two vibrant treasuries.

New ideas

I keep having new ideas today. They are all jotted down so now it's a matter of going through them to see what works. I've also been working on an elegant necklace using my recently purchased red beads. These beads are gorgeous and I may have to use them to create a large gothic necklace. I do have an idea for this but it's a watch this space type of item!

My earring stand came this morning. So all I need to do now is buy some components and I can start listing my earrings. The pair I was working on this afternoon match my recently listed Lillian bracelet. I've used the same silver seed beads and have incorperated a large Swarovski Crystal into the design. I hope you like it. I think I shall start work on the necklace tomorrow.

I'm still looking for the piping for my tatted choker so don't worry, I haven't forgotten about that project.

It's all go over here!

Tatting in lilac and new treasuries

Good afternoon. A few things to talk about today.

New in Etsy shop

I listed my first lilac item yesterday. I really love how it has turned out. It looks so elegant. I used half the motif from my Nimue pattern and then tatted 105 silver seed beeds into the design. What do you think? Click here for the item.

This bracelet really catches the light and would go well with a sparkly evening dress. I hope to list the matching earrngs soon. I will try out a necklace too.

At the moment I'm working on a red necklace but I shall say more about that in a later blog post.

Treasuries

I found I was in two gorgeous treasuries yesterday. The first one, from knittedlove, is entitled 'Red Lovers BRITANNIA' and includes my custom fit Elizabeth bracelet. Click here for the link (ends Sunday).

The second comes from AREjewellery. It is called 'Colour me in!' and includes my Isabella bridal pendant. Click here (ends Sunday).

More items coming soon in my shop. Keep your eyes peeled!

Loads of updates

Good evening. I've got lots of things to share with you.

Update to Etsy shop

I've listed a custom fit red version of my Christina Bracelet here.

I adore this red, it looks so gothic. I'm tempted to do a version with beads! Of course this can be made in different colours. At the moment I have this colour, black, claret, light blue, white, ivory and lilac. I hope to have some more colours soon.

 New treasury

I've managed to grab a treasury spot. I went for purple this time. Click here for the link. Please enjoy!

Tatting

I haven't been able to get much further with my tatted choker. I need to find some piping but as yet it's been difficult to locate. I'm going out shopping soon so hopefull I will find some. I have, however, been working on my lilac bracelet. This is my thinnest bracelet I've created and I'm using more seed beads than I've ever used before. It's really sparkly. I shall list it on Etsy tomorrow and then blog about it. I've thought of an idea for matching earrings too, so when I buy an earring stand I shall photograph and list them. I can't wait to show you these pieces. I hope you love them as much as I do!

Oh and one other milestone. I've reached 1000 followers over on Twitter. Yay!

Milestones and choker sneak peek

First of all I'd like to say that I've reached two milestones. Over the weekend I reached 80 followers on here and 500 fans on my Facebook fan page. Thank you very much. It's lovely to know people are interested in my work.

Next I'd like to give you a sneak peek of my choker. This picture shows where I am at the moment. I've attached the tatting to a ribbon which gives it a nice smooth back. What do you think? This is far from done but I love how it looks so far.

I'm also currently working on a lilac bracelet with silver seed beads. Hopefully I shall have some photos to show you soon.

My choker idea

Good evening. You remember I mentioned yesterday about some ideas I was working on? Well today I decided to focus on the second idea - a choker. I can't say too much at the moment as I want it to be a surprise!

This morning I tatted a length of one of my patterns and then started sewing. I don't usually do much of this. I think the last time I did a sewing project was in about Year 9 at school!

This choker has a few layers to it. I've finished the second layer and soon I shall start on the third. I hope to show you some pictures tomorrow. This is very much a work in progress at the moment so it may not work but I won't know unless I try. I can't wait to finish it. This choker idea might mean I can kill two birds with one stone but more on that later!

If this does work it may mean a trip to our local haberdashery for more colours.

On another note, I'm so close to 500 followers at my Facebook fan page. Thank you very much to those who are fans. It is greatly appreciated. To those of you who haven't yet, come and join the fun!

Have a lovely day / evening.

I've decided I love custom tatting

Good evening. Just a few updates today. I sent my custom order off today. Here it is: a snowflake Christmas tree decoration. I tatted in quite a few silver seed beads to add a touch of sparkle.

This was my first custom order and I really enjoyed making it. I'd love to do more custom pieces. We'll see what the next few months bring!

I had a few ideas today. One I started as soon as I had written it down, the other I hope to start tomorrow. I haven't got any pictures to show you yet but you may get one in my next post. All I shall say is Valentine's Day. I'll keep you posted here, on twitter and on my Facebook fan page.

More tomorrow. Let's hope it warms up soon!

Black and red

Hello. I've got a few things to talk about today. First of all, I listed another item in my Etsy shop yesterday. Similar in size to Elizabeth Royale, this one uses my Eleanor pattern. I decided to tat four together and this was the result. I've named it Eleanor Royale. What do you think? Click here for the listing.

I really love how it's turned out. It feels so Medieval. This would look great in other colours too.

I received some beads yesterday so I've been trying out some new patterns using them. One of these looked good on paper but in practice it's not working. I'll have to figure out a way round my problem.

Do you love treasuries? I certainly do. Especially when I've been included. Thank you very much to Tiffany of Room3designs for including my custom fit Elizabeth bracelet. Click here for the link to the treasury.

I shall have to finish my top films of 2009 post at some point. I had planned to do it over the weekend but other things came up. I'll blog more tomorrow.

So much snow!!

Hello. We've got so much snow here in Kent and apparently more is on the way! It was great to begin with but we haven't had our post for a few days now. Ah well, it doesn't happen that often! Here's a photo of our garden.

It's so lovely and white. The two sets of tracks may be of the very talkative three-legged black cat who likes to come into our garden.

Update to Etsy shop

As promised I've listed my Tudor tatting, from a few posts back, in my Etsy shop. I'm really pleased with this piece and I hope to do more designs like it. Click here for the link.

At the moment I'm tatting a custom order. This is my first one so it's quite exciting. After this I shall list some more items.
Sandra Darling

Lastly, I'd like to tell you about a competition from Sandra Darling. Last year I talked about her gorgeous Etsy shop. She shall soon be selling art cards and is having a competition to win a set of six. Head over to her blog for details on how to enter. Click here. You won't regret it!

Right it's back to the tatting for me. I'll blog more on Monday. Stay warm.

First treasury of 2010 and a few updates

I've created my first treasury of 2010. I decided to go all blue (which just happens to be one of my favourite colours!) and went for 'Royal Blue' as the title. Please click the link and enjoy.

I'm in the process of getting some new items ready for my Etsy shop. I shall start listing them this coming Friday! I'm really excited about these new pieces of jewellery and I can't wait for you to see them. I hope you like them.

I had a great idea today for some earrings. This is the first time I've thought about this and I hope it works. I shall try tomorrow and may even be able to give you a sneak peek!

On another note, have you heard about 'Link Love' on Facebook? Artisans have started discussions on their Facebook fan pages where people can post links to Etsy shops, twitter etc. It's a great way to find other creative people and the idea has really taken off. I too have these discussions going on in my own fan page. Please click and have a look. You may find some truly great people through this.

I'll try to take some pictures tomorrow of my new idea.

Darren Hayes' NYE show and a new treasury

Evening all. How was everyone's New Year's Eve/Day? I had a great time. My mum and I went up to London for a NYE show by my favourite singer-songwriter Darren Hayes. You may recognise the name: he was the voice of Savage Garden. We've followed his music for 12 years and have now seen him live 7 times!

The evening was fantastic. He had two support acts. The first was the burlesque dancer/singer Miss Polly Rae and the second was a comedienne. At 10 pm Darren entered in a very sparkly jacket and started his 1 hour and 40 minutes set off. We had a few Savage Garden songs, such as I Knew I Loved You/Truly Madly Deeply, Crash And Burn, I Want You and my personal favourite Break Me Shake Me. Some of these were mashed up with other tracks such as Billie Jean etc. He sang a couple from his newest album This Delicate Thing We've Made and, of course, Insatiable. His voice just keeps getting better every time I see him live.

Just before midnight, he came back on stage and we all counted down the seconds to 2010 together. We were relatively close to the London Eye so we to witnessed the end on the firework display and then, at 12:20, it started snowing!

I will treasure that evening forever. Check him out on Myspace. He really has one of the best voices on this planet and is also a lovely guy. I'm still buzzing!

In other news, my custom fit Nimue bracelet is in a treasury all about tatting. Yay! Check it out here (ends Tuesday). Please click and enjoy!

I'll stop there for today. Stay tuned as next week I shall be unveiling new pieces in my Etsy shop. Have a lovely Saturday/ Sunday.
