Headbands

This is the first in my new line of tatted headbands. It has been created in black cotton thread and features many tiny gold seed beads. I've added gold roses around the band and it ties up under the hair with a black satin ribbon that is woven through the piece. You can buy it here.

This is great for fancy dress, Gothic gatherings, Halloween, Renaissance Faires or just to add something to you outfit when going out to parties.

At the moment I'm working on a Medieval bridal headband that I hope to finish tomorrow. All I can say about that one is that it is very sparkly.

Look out for more coming soon.

A few updates

I'm still on track to reveal this new piece to you all in a few hours time but until then here are some items I've been listing in my Etsy shop:

First off a pair of simple, yet elegant silver / grey earrings. These would look great with practically anything! I'm thinking of tatting them in other colours, maybe purple but I'm not sure yet. You can purchase them here.

The next is a pair of black and dark purple Celtic earrings. The design comes from my Isolde bracelet. As you can see I've been experimenting with petals and I think they work. I'm planning on creating some white and lilac earrings and possibly two different blues. Here they are.

The last pair of earrings uses my Christina pattern. I created them as a custom order for a customer and I've now listed them for anyone to buy.

These are very cute and would make a very nice present. They would also compliment your favourite little black dress quite nicely. You can buy them here.

That's all from me for the moment,

Something gothic this way comes - Part 1

I'm going to be very secretive in this post.

A few days ago I had an interesting idea for a tatted piece. I started planning it out and soon realised I had all (or nearly all) the required materials to make it up. Great! I got to work immediately. After a while I had to transfer the tatting from my normal sized shuttles to my lager ones due to the length of the piece, which is fine but it slowed me down as there is no hook attached to the end of the shuttle to connect the picots. Several knots, seed beads and hours later I have now finished the base and am feeling very happy with the result. Here's a glimpse:

I'm not going to spill the beans just yet but I am going to say that it has a Tudor / Renaissance / Gothic vibe about it and will look great at parties! I now need to buy a few bits and bobs to finish it off and then I'll show you. This piece was really fun to make and I hope you like it when you see the whole item.

Musing on a sunny Saturday morning

Well this week has been an emotional rollercoaster for me. I've been working on several projects. One has been posted, another is half way there. I've bought some more seed beads, I cant wait to use them! Ideas are coming out of my head quicker than I can make them. In other words, I'm a very busy girl.

A few days ago something happened that was a great shock. I'm afraid I can't go into details but that night I ended up consuming copious amounts of chocolate. The experience has left me feeling very angry but at least I now have two different companies investigating. I can't do anymore about it so I've tried to put it to the back of my mind.

On a brighter note, I've now reached 1000 'likes' on my facebook Fan page here. Thank you to everyone who has become a fan. It is greatly appreciated. I'm thinking about doing something special for you all next week but you will have to wait to find out what that is.

Here endeth my 100th blog post.
